Welcome to Merinda. These Terms of Service govern your use of the Merinda mobile application. Merinda is developed and operated by an independent developer based in Finland ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Merinda, you agree to be bound by these terms.
By accessing or using Merinda, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the app.
Merinda grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence permits you to:
Merinda does not allow users to create, upload, or share recipes. All recipes are provided by the app. You retain ownership of your personal preferences (favourites, cooking history, dietary restrictions, settings) stored locally on your device. Merinda never transmits this data to us or to anyone else; if you have device backups enabled, it is included in your phone's own Google or Apple backup so it can be restored on a new device (see our Privacy Policy). Uninstalling the app or clearing app data deletes your locally stored preferences.

All recipes, images, instructions, and content included in Merinda are owned by or licenced to the app developer. You may view and use recipes for personal, non-commercial cooking purposes only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or republish recipe content without permission.
Recipes in Merinda are provided for informational and personal cooking purposes only. Always consider individual dietary needs, allergies, and health conditions. Nutritional information, ingredient quantities, and cooking times are approximate and may vary. Merinda is not responsible for adverse reactions, injuries, or outcomes resulting from following recipes in the app. If you have specific dietary requirements or medical conditions, consult a qualified healthcare professional before following any recipe.
Merinda includes an optional cooking help feature powered by an AI language model that runs entirely on your device. AI-generated responses are produced automatically and may be incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong — including about cooking times, temperatures, ingredient substitutions, and allergens. Always verify food-safety-critical information (such as safe internal cooking temperatures and whether an ingredient contains an allergen) from authoritative sources. AI responses are not medical, nutritional, or professional advice, and you must not rely on them for allergy or health decisions.
Enabling the feature requires a one-time download of a large model file (approximately 2.4 GB). You are responsible for any mobile data charges and for the storage space it uses. We may change, update, or discontinue the AI feature or the underlying model at any time.
The fasting timer, calorie counter, and nutrition tracking are convenience tools for personal use only — they are not medical advice, and nutritional values are estimates that may be inaccurate. Do not begin a fasting regimen without consulting a qualified healthcare professional, particularly if you are pregnant or nursing, under 18, diabetic, taking medication, or have any medical condition or history of disordered eating.
Merinda is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from harmful components. You use Merinda at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Merinda and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury arising from your use of the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so this may not apply to you.
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue Merinda (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms of Service periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Changes are announced in the app store listing's release notes, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
You may stop using Merinda at any time by uninstalling the app. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the app at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that violates these terms.
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, and disputes arising from these terms or your use of Merinda shall be resolved in the courts of Finland. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you additionally keep any protections granted by the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence — nothing in these terms limits those rights.
